Job summary

Mt Southington Ski Area Inc in Plantsville, CT is seeking a Seasonal Rental Associate to greet guests and help select ski/snowboard equipment. You will assist guests with finding gear, educate on usage, and perform equipment inspections and waxing as needed.

Responsibilities include maintaining a clean rental shop, inventory tracking, and coordinating staff coverage during peak times. Must be 18+, able to work weekends/nights/holidays, and pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.

• Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and quickly able to learn new technology.
• Proficiency with computers, POS systems, and inventory software.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Successful completion of background check.

• Report missing or damaged equipment to Rentals Manager and Equipment Control Coordinator.
• Perform ski and snowboard waxing as needed.
• Open and close operations as outlined by Rentals Manager.
• Record all hours worked accurately and resolve discrepancies before pay period end.
• Complete other duties as assigned by mountain leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner
• Assist guests in selecting appropriate ski or snowboard equipment based on guest-provided information, including measurements and self-identified ability level, in accordance with established Internal Operating Procedures (IOPs) and manufacturer guidelines
• Assist guests with finding appropriate skis or snowboards
• Educate guests on equipment and proper use
• Adjust ski and snowboard bindings according to manufacturer guidelines
• Perform visual and functional inspections of all rental equipment
• Maintain a clean and organized rental shop environment
• Assistwith inventory tracking and storage
• Report missing or damaged equipment to Rentals Manager and Equipment Control Coordinator
• Perform ski and snowboard waxing as needed
• Perform opening and closing responsibilities as outlined by Rentals Manager
• Administer employee coaching and disciplinary documentation in accordance with company policies
• Assign work and coordinate employee activities to ensure efficient operations
• Adjust staffing levels based on business needs, including releasing employees early when appropriate and/or calling in additional staff for coverage
• Complete required training as assigned by mountain leadership
• Accurately record all hours worked, ensure time entries are complete, and promptly resolve any discrepancies prior to the end of each pay period
• Other duties as assigned by mountain leadership

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Ability to standfor extended periods of timeand perform repetitive physical tasks
• Ability to workin an indoor location subject to temperature fluctuations, drafts, and intermittent exposure to outdoor weather conditions due to frequent operation of exterior doors
• Ability toliftup to 50lbs

Compensation & Benefits

• Compensation: $19/hour
