Position Summary
The Lift Operator is responsible for the efficient, professional, and guest-focused operation of the ski lifts. They play a key role in the guest experience by assisting riders with loading and unloading, monitoring lift use and operation, communicating rider responsibilities, and helping ensure smooth daily operations in all weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate ski liftsin accordance withestablished Internal Operating Procedures
- Assistguests with loading and unloading lifts, including children, beginners, and guests with adaptive equipment
- Monitor lift lines and control guest flow
- Respond promptly to lift stoppages, slowdowns, and emergency situations in accordance with established operating procedures
- Communicate clearly and professionally with other lift operators and supervisors in person and via radio
- Communicate and reinforce guest responsibilities for loading, riding, and unloading lifts; address behavior that is not in compliance with lift operating procedures and escalated concerns to supervisors as appropriate
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of lift terminals and surrounding areas
- Provide great guest service and answer questions about the mountain, trails, and conditions
- Accurately record all hours worked, ensure time entries are complete, and promptly resolve any discrepancies prior to the end of each pay period
- Complete requiredtrainingasassignedby mountain leadership
- Other duties as assigned by mountain leadership
Qualifications, Requirements, and CompensationQualifications
- Mustbe 18 years or older
- Strong communicationand teamwork skills
- Positive attitude and customer mindset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Successful completion of background check
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk and perform applicable duties including repetitive physical tasks for extended periods of time(up to 8+ hours)
- Ability to walk, stand and navigate snow-covered, icy, uneven, and changing terrain, surface and sub-surface conditions
- Ability to respond quickly to on-hill and emergency situations
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including cold temperatures, snow wind, and limited visibility
- Ability to bend, shovel snow, andassistguests physically when needed
- Ability to work at heights and around mechanical equipment
- Ability to occasionallyliftupto 50lbs
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation: $18.50/hour
