Carter Machinery Co. Inc. is seeking a Rental Sales Supervisor in Fredericksburg, VA. The role oversees rental store operations, inside sales, and equipment transportation, ensuring fleet readiness to meet customer requirements.

You will collaborate with service department supervisors to deliver high-quality service, market equipment rentals, and drive opportunities while maintaining strong internal and external relationships. This is a fast-paced, customer-focused leadership position.

Qualifications

• Experience in the Rental Equipment or Construction Service Industry, required
• Supervisory experience in a service-related industry, preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent industry experience, preferred

Responsibilities

• Supervise operational areas of the rental store including inside sales and transportation of equipment
• Maintain fleet inventory readiness and coordinate with the service department to meet customers’ needs

Job Title: Rental Sales Supervisor

Location: Fredericksburg, Virginia

Starting Compensation Range: $73,000 - $95,000 per year

The Rental Sales Supervisor position is responsible for supervising operational areas of the rental store, including inside sales activity, transportation of equipment and maintaining fleet inventory readiness. The individual in this position will also work with the service department supervisors to ensure customers' needs are met at the highest level.

Requirements for the Rental Sales Supervisor position include:

• Thorough understanding of rental service operations
• Must be able to effectively market equipment rentals and sales to customers
• Must be able to monitor business environment to support and guide management in identifying and addressing business opportunities and challenges
• Must be a good listener with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent customer satisfaction skills and the ability to build strong internal and external relationships
• Strong PC skills and the ability to self-develop and adapt to changing technology
• Must be able to handle large volumes of work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to quickly evaluate facts and maintain good judgment when making decisions
• Must have an excellent driving record
• Frequent travel is required - overnight or out of town via car or airplane
• Must be able to work shifts needed, including days, nights, and/or weekends to meet customer demands

Seeking Candidates with:

• Experience in the Rental Equipment or Construction Service Industry, required
• Previous supervisory experience in a service-related industry, preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent industry experience, preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly required to sit and talk or hear
• Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus
