Job summary

Stewart & Stevenson is hiring a Rental Field Service Technician II to service portable diesel air compressors, generators, forklifts and related rental equipment at shop and customer sites. You’ll diagnose faults, perform major repairs, order parts, and maintain safety compliance.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED with 2–4 years of related experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain/maintain a Class A CDL. DOT medical card is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 2–4 years related experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair various equipment.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain/maintain Class A CDL.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to learn new equipment and perform preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and repair portable diesel equipment, generators and forklifts.
• Perform complex/major repairs on air compressors and related rental equipment.
• Identify and order parts; maintain shop/truck stock.
• Complete work orders and timesheets accurately and promptly.
• Adhere to safety protocols and DOT medical card requirements.
• Plan yard and field schedule; organize work methods to finish jobs.
• Assist lower-level technicians as needed and maintain a clean, safe environment.
