Job summary

Holt of California, a Caterpillar dealer, is seeking a rental and sales assistant located in Stockton, CA. You will assist with renting equipment, support sales reps through the full cycle, and dispatch drivers for deliveries and pickups, while helping with fleet management and customer service.

Duties include taking calls, processing rental paperwork, coordinating shop work and invoicing, coordinating hauling through dispatch, and working with credit and inventory tasks.

Qualifications

  • High School GED and/or one to two years construction equipment and rental experience.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Take rental calls and sales requests for equipment rental.
  • Coordinate paperwork for rentals, deliveries, shop work and invoicing.
  • Coordinate paperwork for demos or sales of equipment.
  • Coordinate all rental, used, and demo hauling through central dispatch.
  • Work with credit department for customer credit authorizations.
  • Work with rental yard technician on check-out/in of equipment.
  • Assist with asset management and inventories.
  • Other duties as assigned.

THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN STOCKTON, CA.

POSITION SUMMARY

Assist with renting equipment and fellow sales representatives with the full rental and sales cycle, dispatching One Ton Drivers for deliveries and pick-ups, fleet management and providing excellent customer service.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Take customer calls and sales requests for rental equipment.
  • Handle paperwork associated with the rental of equipment (coordinate shop work, delivery, computer generated agreements and invoicing).
  • Handle paperwork associated with the demo or sale of rental and/or used equipment.
  • Coordinator all rental, used, and demo hauling through central dispatch.
  • Work with credit department for customer credit authorizations.
  • Work with rental utility/yard technician on check-out and check-in of equipment.
  • Work with Rental Manager on special projects, asset management and inventories including physical inventory for yard and shop areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS
  • Ability to read and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages, area, circumference and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must have some computer and keyboard skills.
  • Knowledge of material handling equipment helpful, but not mandatory.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • High School GED and/or one to two years construction equipment and rental experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have a valid driver license and a clean DMV driving report.

COMPENSATION

Pay Range: $20.00 - $23.00 Hourly

Pay Range Dependent on Knowledge, Skills, and Ability to perform the responsibilities of the job.
