Job summary

Housing Kitsap is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain the physical condition of properties in Kitsap County. The role includes preventative maintenance, emergency support for residents, routine inspections, and preparing units for new occupancy.

Schedule is Monday–Friday with paid federal holidays. Duties include carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC tasks with safety and time-management expectations for a team or solo worker.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required. Demonstrated housing maintenance experience; or a combination of education, experience, and training that indicates the ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position listed above;
• Possession of, or the ability to obtain and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license with insurable driving record and auto insurance.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check for positions with unsupervised access to residents.

Responsibilities

• Prepares vacated units back to rent-ready condition which includes cleaning fixtures, repairing sheetrock, painting, re-keying locks and repair woodwork, cabinets, or doors.
• Completes assigned property work orders in a timely manner; work orders are predominantly completed in resident occupied units.
• Unit turnover and work orders could include carpentry tasks, electrical tasks, plumbing tasks, and HVAC maintenance.
