Qualifications

Typical Hours: Approximately 6:00/7:00 AM – 2:00/3:00 PM
Start Date: ASAP
Environment: Data Center / Mission-Critical Infrastructure

Position Overview

Tek One Solutions is seeking Data Center Technicians – Levels I, II, and III for a large-scale data center project in the Reno, NV area.

These positions support low-voltage, structured cabling, access control, and related infrastructure installation within an active data center environment. Opportunities are available for technicians ranging from developing entry-level installers to experienced senior technicians.

All positions are temp-to-hire, with potential conversion to a direct employee after approximately 1,040 hours, based on performance and project needs.

Pay: $23–$26/hr

Ideal for technicians with foundational low-voltage or structured cabling experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Pulling and routing low-voltage cabling
  • Performing cable terminations
  • Dressing and organizing cable
  • Supporting pathway and infrastructure installation
  • Assisting higher-level technicians as needed
  • Conduit experience is a plus

Pay: $26–$31/hr

Designed for experienced technicians capable of independently completing structured cabling and device installation work.

Responsibilities include:

  • Wiring panels and field devices
  • Performing cable terminations
  • Pulling, routing, and dressing cable
  • Supporting low-voltage and security infrastructure installation
  • Reading project drawings and following installation standards
  • Conduit experience is a plus

Experience: Approximately 3–4 years of relevant field experience preferred.

Pay: $31–$40/hr

Senior-level opportunity for technicians with advanced data center, low-voltage, access control, or electronic security experience.

Candidates with LenelS2 access control certification or strong LenelS2 experience are highly preferred and may receive priority consideration.

Level III technicians may be responsible for:

  • Advanced device and panel installation
  • Access control system infrastructure
  • Troubleshooting and testing
  • Ensuring installations meet project quality standards
  • Interpreting drawings, device schedules, and technical documentation
General Responsibilities
  • Install structured cabling and low-voltage infrastructure
  • Pull, route, dress, label, and terminate cabling
  • Install and wire panels and field devices
  • Follow data center installation standards and project documentation
  • Maintain clean and organized workmanship
  • Identify and report installation deficiencies
  • Follow all site safety and security procedures
  • Work effectively within a team-oriented construction environment
  • Previous low-voltage, structured cabling, security, telecom, or data center experience appropriate to the position level
  • OSHA 10 required
  • OSHA 30 preferred
  • Ability to successfully complete a background check
  • Ability to successfully complete a 5-panel drug screening
  • Lift certification is strongly preferred
  • Candidates without current lift certification should be willing and able to obtain it prior to starting if required
  • Must have required tools and PPE
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance required
