Job summary

EdgeCore Digital Infrastructure is expanding its Reno, NV campus and seeks a Core Operations Technician (COT) who will monitor data center conditions, lead vendor activities, and help drive operational excellence in a mission-critical environment.

The role focuses on safety, reliability, and hands-on support of MEP infrastructure, with on-site responsibilities in a full-time, hourly non-exempt arrangement. Relocation support is available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• 2–7 years hands-on experience in supporting and operating critical facilities
• Strong electrical background with low/medium voltage distribution, switchgear, UPS, generators, ATS/STS, and safe LOTO procedures
• Mechanical systems operation and basic troubleshooting of chillers, CRAC/CRAH, pumps, VFDs, BAS
• Plumbing and fluid systems familiarity incl. condensate, water loops, leak detection
• Comfortable with hand/power tools and industrial equipment
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E, OSHA 10, First Aid/CPR
• Ability to read electrical one lines, mechanical schematics, P&IDs, and O&Ms manuals
• Strong written and verbal communication, shift reporting and vendor coordination
• Thrives in dynamic environments with changing priorities
• Empathetic, team-oriented performer

Responsibilities

• Safety-first responder for critical MEP systems and events
• Monitor data center infrastructure for issues and trends
• Oversee daily vendor activities and ensure safe, compliant work
• Contribute to the operations playbook and SOP improvements
• Support continuous improvement and optimization of operations
• Use CMMS to track and document work
• Manage assets, spare parts, and tools via CMMS systems
• Develop and follow formal procedures for data center operations
• Communicate with contractors and engineering teams
• Occasionally on-call outside normal hours
