Job summary

Google is hiring an Data Center Technician for Operations in Reno, NV. The role focuses on installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting and maintaining data center hardware and server software, including complex networking components.

You’ll participate in projects and handle physical tasks such as rack installation. As part of the AI and Infrastructure team, you will help deliver scalable infrastructure, ensuring reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience with component-level repairs and troubleshooting on technical equipment.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, computer/server hardware, or networking protocols.
• Ability to lift/move 50lb (23kg) of equipment and perform physical tasks.
• Must be able to work non-standard hours, including weekends, nights, holidays, and shift-based schedules.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot equipment or infrastructure and apply resources to resolve issues.
• Maintain data security and integrity per Google standards.
• Disassemble end-of-life equipment in a team setting.
• Repair and perform preventative maintenance on equipment and infrastructure.
