Job summary

Accident Fund Insurance Company of America in Lansing, MI seeks a Renewal Specialist – Small Accounts to support Business Development Consultants, manage renewal books, and assist agents with underwriting inquiries and policy information.

You will assess renewal eligibility, determine insurability, and recommend pricing changes to maintain profitability while ensuring compliance with bureau rules. Strong communication with agencies is essential.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years experience with Accident Fund Insurance Company of America as a Customer Service Representative, Billing Service Representative or equivalent Accident Fund experience that provides the necessary skills.
• Four years relevant experience servicing agencies and policy holders as it relates to rules, procedures and regulations, policy and audit information; reviewing, approving, and declining endorsement requests; maintaining compliance with bureau rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Calculates and determines renewal eligibility and insurability for policyholders.
• Develops appropriate pricing based on loss history, audit results, STI, PM scores, and hazard exposures.
• Approves or declines renewals for profitability and/or continuation of coverage using corporate underwriting guidelines within their Letter of Authority.
• Reprice renewals due to competition, market fluctuations, multi-state repricing, or to retain profitability.
• Approves endorsement requests received from the service center and agents.
• Coordinates problem resolution and responds to customer complaints, errors, and service issues.
• Provides ad hoc mod promulgations for BDCs and agents.
• Review AFXpress submissions for errors and to ensure they meet underwriting guidelines.
• Assist BDCs in preparation for agency audits.
• Mentors CSRs and Service Center employees.

Education

Bachelors degree in insurance or related field
