Job summary

The New York Power Authority seeks a Senior Associate, M&A and Structuring to join its Renewables team and advance New York's energy transition through strategic financing and project development.

You will build complex financial models, review project finance documents, lead cross‑functional collaboration, and support acquisition activities for renewable energy and battery storage projects across New York State.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a business-related field required; MBA preferred.
• Minimum of 6 years in accounting, finance, or project finance experience preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years finance experience with financial structuring and modeling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and maintenance of complex financial models and presentations for project financial structures.
• Oversee analysis of financial statements and power project business models.
• Conduct in-depth financial results analysis to identify variations, trends, risks, and exposures.
• Oversee development of RFPs for power projects, co-investors, and consultant support services.
• Lead analysis and development of funding strategies and comprehensive risk mitigation.
• Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
• Lead teams as an SME and manage cross-functional collaboration on models and projects.
• Drive continuous improvement of financial processes and methodologies.
• Proficient writing skills to summarize analysis and present findings to stakeholders.
