Job summary

Nova Clean Energy LLC is seeking a Financial Controller to support the accounting function for a global investment company. The role is hands-on, focused on tax, accounting, and audit, and based in our Chicago office with a hybrid work model.

Key responsibilities include monthly close, consolidation, lease accounting under ASC 842, debt schedules, and coordination with FP&A for cash needs. Strong internal controls and process improvements are essential.

Qualifications

• CPA required with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP with consolidation accounting experience.
• Experience managing outsourced or offshore accounting teams and SLAs/KPIs.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel and AI knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly and quarterly close processes and ensure timely financial reporting.
• Consolidate results and deliver management accounts to senior management.
• Manage ASC 842 lease accounting and debt schedules.
