Job summary

Repsol is seeking a Cost Estimator in Downtown Houston with a hybrid work model (minimum 3 days in-office). You will develop robust, data‑driven capital and operating cost projections for solar, wind, and battery storage projects across North America, translating engineering inputs into defensible estimates.

The role requires 10+ years in energy cost estimating and strong collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive project value and align with company standards and processes.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in cost estimating, budgeting, and financial analysis in energy (oil & gas or renewables).
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, or business.
• Strong ability to interpret engineering specs, Basis of Design, BOQ and contracts.
• Technical knowledge of solar and/or wind energy systems, construction processes, and industry standards.
• Familiarity with all project controls disciplines.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Exemplary standards of integrity, safety, ethics, quality, and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Provide ROM, Conceptual, and Detailed estimates based on project plans, specs, and BOQ documents for solar, wind, and storage projects.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates covering materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
• Prepare and maintain Basis of Estimate (BOE) for each project.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, development, O&M and procurement teams to validate assumptions and optimize costs.
• Create and maintain a cost benchmarking database.
• Monitor market trends for renewable energy components and update cost databases accordingly.
• Support and validate Change Management requests and cost impacts.
• Maintain compliance with Repsol guidelines and estimating processes.
• Develop and maintain in-house estimating tools, templates, procedures, and guidelines.
• Support project stage-gate process and deliverables.
• Maintain historical cost database and apply learnings for improved performance.
• Assess performance threats and opportunities against benchmarks.
