Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking an Assistant Commissioning Manager to lead testing and commissioning of HV, BESS, and PV projects on site in the Midwest, with travel as needed. You will support the Commissioning Manager and coordinate with engineering, construction, and QA teams to ensure safe, compliant, and fully operable assets.

Responsibilities include managing the commissioning team, developing plans and procedures, reviewing requirements, and maintaining schedules (P6).

Qualifications

• Knowledge of utility-scale solar, battery storage, and HV substations.
• Experience with HV/MV switching operations and electrical systems.
• NERC/ISO testing and operational requirements familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Manage the project commissioning team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and effective execution of tasks.
• Report daily to the Commissioning Manager, the status of each project assigned.
• Review requirements and assist with development of project milestones, plans, and procedures.
• Coordinate with OEM suppliers on equipment testing and commissioning activities.
• Ensure alignment with engineering, construction, and QA across commissioning activities.
• Develop integrated P6 testing and commissioning schedules and keep them updated weekly.
• Develop the commissioning resource plan for the project and manage pre-commissioning through hot commissioning tests.
• Prepare detailed daily commissioning reports, document issues, and corrective actions.
• Travel to jobsite in the Midwest as needed and ensure safety/compliance throughout commissioning.
