Job summary

Ulteig is seeking a Civil Design Engineer – Renewables to work with civil, structural, and electrical design teams on renewable projects from development to construction. You will engage with clients to understand technical needs and develop robust design solutions.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited), EIT, 3–5+ years in civil design, site grading knowledge, and strong AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office skills. A collaborative, innovative culture awaits.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent is required.
• Civil Engineering-In-Training (EIT) registration required.
• Minimum of 3-5+ years of civil engineering experience, with 1-2 years in design of renewable energy projects preferred.
• Understanding of large-scale site grading design, earthwork calculations, and additions to existing civil designs is required.
• Familiarity with erosion and sediment control applications and temporary stormwater treatment techniques is highly desired.
• Experience with detailed design of renewables facilities with complex constraints is desired.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
• Proven experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Applies standard engineering techniques to complete tasks and supports other design workflows.
• Develops plans, specifications and observation reports aligned with industry practices.
• Recommends design changes to improve quality.
• Plan and accomplish project goals using experience and judgment.
• Resolve design challenges including field observations and data discrepancies.
• Performs civil site design calculations.
• Maintains a value engineering mindset throughout development, design and construction.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams and clients to identify feasible solutions.
• Demonstrates creativity and design ownership across projects.
