Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Designer/Drafter - Engineering Technician to join our Renewables Division.

You will prepare design drawings, plan sets, exhibits, and technical documents for wind, solar, battery energy storage, and related renewable energy infrastructure. You will work closely with engineers and project teams to develop high-quality deliverables, transfer markup data to final drawings, and support site design, grading, drainage, and utility systems.

Qualifications

• Associate or 2-year technical degree in drafting or engineering technology.
• 2–5 years of experience as CAD Technician, Designer/Drafter, or equivalent role.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and drafting standards.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design drawings, plan sets, exhibits, and technical documents for renewable energy projects.
• Transfer information from engineering markups to final drawings and plan sets.
• Develop and revise drawings for site design, grading, drainage, and utilities.
• Visualize concepts in 2D/3D formats and coordinate with engineers.
• Organize drawing files, sheet sets, and project documentation.
• Support construction quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with engineers to ensure accuracy and quality of deliverables.
