Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Designer/Drafter - Engineering Technician to join our Renewables Division. The role supports renewable energy projects by preparing design drawings, plan sets, exhibits, and technical documents.

You will work closely with engineers and project teams to develop high-quality deliverables for wind, solar, battery energy storage, and other renewable energy infrastructure in Minnesota.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or other drafting and civil design software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other business and technical software.
• Basic knowledge of file management, directory structures, and document organization.
• Familiarity with civil construction plans, standard details, and related engineering documents.
• Understanding of basic civil engineering principles and design procedures (grading, drainage, stormwater management, earthwork, access road layout, utilities).
• Ability to assist in the preparation of construction quantities and cost estimates.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established drafting standards and procedures.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design drawings, plan sets, exhibits, and technical documents for renewable energy projects.
• Collaborate with engineers and project teams to develop high-quality deliverables.
• Develop and revise drawings to support site design, utility coordination, and civil components.
• Coordinate with engineers to ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings.
