Job summary

New Leaf Energy, Inc. seeks a Structured Finance Associate to join the Power Plants division in Oakland. The role supports complex financial modeling, deal support, and capital-raising activities for renewable energy projects.

The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with in-office presence on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, plus in-office flexibility on other days. Base salary ranges from $113,707 to $131,880 with a 10% target bonus; geography-based adjustments apply across multiple

Qualifications

• 3-4 years in renewable energy project finance, investment banking, or corporate development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field.
• Advanced Excel modeling skills (VBA is a plus).
• General understanding of tax equity concepts and project finance deal structures.
• Understanding of project development lifecycle for renewable energy projects.
• Strong attention to detail and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complex financial models (IRR, NPV, cash flows) for projects.
• Provide arm’s length pricing to DevCo for potential IPP sales.
• Support diligence with respect to real estate, permitting, interconnection, and development items.
• Manage checklists, schedules, and tools to keep diligence organized and enable timely closings.
• Draft project-specific MIPAs and identify post-closing DevCo obligations.
• Monitor compliance with CPs in financing agreements to ensure timely draws.
• Support capital transactions and ensure smooth deal closes with internal/external resources.
• Manage data rooms and respond to investor inquiries during capital raises.
• Identify process improvements with stakeholders.
