We are seeking a Staff Scientist III to support the renewable energy team. This position is remote. In this role, you will play a crucial part in creating resilient power solutions to help drive the transformation toward a more sustainable energy future.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Project Managers with coordinating tasks on renewable energy projects, particularly writing and assembling documents, and coordinating and executing project work (including fieldwork and reporting)
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to complete all aspects of environmental impact analysis, permitting, and engineering studies, including power siting board applications, and associated support studies
  • Support various aspects of a project, including scope, schedule, budget, technical resources, communications, and invoicing
  • Assemble proposals, coordinating with subcontractors, and helping with task orders
  • Author technical sections and coordinate preparation of applications for local, state, and federal permitting
  • Author, review, and coordinate due diligence documents, such as Critical Issues Analyses
  • Review and coordinate Phase I ESAs for renewable energy projects
  • Serve as a point person to coordinate with the internal GIS team
  • Ability to learn, understand, and apply changes in policy, legislation, regulations, and new technologies
  • May require up to 25% travel

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Natural Resources, Renewable Energy, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
    • A master's degree is preferred
  • 5-7 years of consulting experience in the renewable energy industry
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with technical writing and analysis, technical review of reports, and project coordination
  • Demonstrated experience with environmental resource studies, impact analysis, and permitting
  • Works effectively to deadlines with minimum supervision; strong problem-solving skills; collaborates well with colleagues regionally and globally
