Job summary

Bluewater Battery Logistics in Los Angeles, CA is hiring a Sales Engineer to enable the Renewable Site Solutions team in solving battery, solar, and electrical equipment replacement challenges. You will identify compatible alternatives, evaluate cross-manufacturer options, and support complex repowering projects while collaborating with Sales and Operations to meet customer needs.

The role focuses on technical problem-solving, strong product knowledge, and proactive communication with site

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent technical experience.
• 3–7+ years supporting utility-scale renewable energy projects through EPC or similar org.
• Familiarity with solar, BESS, transformers, and high-voltage equipment.
• Experience identifying replacement parts or sourcing equipment is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and multitasking ability in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for customer meetings and site visits.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the centralized equipment database with specs and inventory.
• Identify direct replacements and engineered substitutes for renewable energy gear.
• Build an up-to-date library of datasheets, manuals, and drawings.
• Support procurement by validating specs and aiding sourcing decisions.
• Coordinate with OEMs, suppliers, and site owners for documentation and questions.
• Manage internal technical requests and track progress across teams.
• Develop compatibility matrices and replacement recommendations.
• Provide technical support for proposals and complex repowering projects.
• Train Sales and Procurement on equipment capabilities and differentiators.
• Monitor market trends and equipment obsolescence to identify solutions.
