Job summary

Primoris Renewable Energy, part of Primoris Services Corporation, is seeking a Civil/Mechanical Equipment Operator (Non-Driver) to operate heavy equipment on renewable energy construction sites in Louisiana. You will perform pre-op checks, maintain equipment safety, and support excavation, grading, and installation tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy civil and mechanical equipment on construction sites.
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently with attention to detail.
• Familiar with renewable energy construction projects preferred.
• Strong safety knowledge and adherence to procedures on-site.
• Read and interpret basic blueprints, schematics and project plans.
• Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
• Team player able to follow supervisor instructions.
• Able to perform physical tasks in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy civil and mechanical equipment (excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, etc.).
• Perform daily pre-op checks and routine maintenance on equipment.
• Follow safety protocols, OSHA rules, and company policies on-site.
• Excavate, grade, trench, and move materials per plans.
• Assist with assembly, positioning, and installation of mechanical components.
• Communicate with supervisors and crew to ensure smooth workflow.
• Identify and report malfunctions, hazards, or discrepancies to supervisor.
• Keep work area clean and store tools properly.
