Job summary

Neuratek Search in Austin, Texas is seeking Development Managers to lead utility-scale solar, battery storage, and hybrid projects from market assessment through development milestones.

You will coordinate interconnection, permitting, land acquisition, and stakeholder engagement, travel across Texas, and work with cross-functional teams on schedules, budgets and investment decisions.

Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering, environmental science, planning, business, finance or related discipline; relevant project-development experience considered.
  • Experience in utility-scale energy or infrastructure development is highly valued.
  • Strong knowledge of land use, interconnection, permitting and local approvals.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple development workstreams and external stakeholders.

Job description

The opportunity

Development Managers may take responsibility for projects from initial market assessment and site identification through late-stage development, investment approval or notice to proceed.


The exact remit will vary, but opportunities may involve:



  • Identifying and evaluating new solar, battery storage and hybrid project opportunities.

  • Managing site selection, land acquisition and lease negotiations.

  • Coordinating interconnection applications and grid-development activities.

  • Overseeing permitting, environmental studies and local approval processes.

  • Building relationships with landowners, communities, consultants and public authorities.

  • Managing project schedules, budgets, risks and development milestones.

  • Coordinating engineering, legal, commercial, finance and construction teams.

  • Reviewing project economics and supporting investment decisions.

  • Managing third-party consultants and specialist advisers.

  • Supporting power purchase agreements, offtake discussions and commercial strategy.

  • Preparing project updates for senior leadership and investment committees.

  • Supporting due diligence, acquisitions and the sale or financing of projects.

  • Identifying obstacles early and developing practical strategies to keep projects moving.

  • The ability to work independently in a fast-moving project environment.


Texas market knowledge would be particularly valuable, including familiarity with regional land, permitting, power-market or interconnection considerations.


Qualifications

A degree in engineering, environmental science, planning, business, finance, law or a related discipline may be preferred, although relevant project-development experience will be the most important consideration.


Location and travel

Opportunities will be centred around Austin, with project travel expected across Texas.


Candidates based in Austin, Round Rock, Georgetown, San Marcos or surrounding areas may be suitable. Some employers may also consider candidates elsewhere in Texas who can travel regularly.


Working arrangements may include office-based, hybrid or remote structures depending on the organisation and project portfolio.


Compensation

Base salary, annual bonus, project incentives, equity, healthcare, retirement benefits and paid leave will vary between employers.
