Job summary

Arup seeks a Renewable Engineer to support the design and performance of utility-scale inverter-based resources such as BESS, solar, wind, and hybrids across the US. The role can be based in West or South offices, interfacing with owners, OEMs, EPCs, and market participants to ensure designs meet performance and compliance objectives.

You will translate technical requirements into actionable designs while aiding optimization, reporting, and system performance, with opportunities to collaborate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in utility-scale energy storage, solar, or wind assets.
• Hands-on design experience with utility-scale Wind/PV/BESS and EMS/SCADA.
• Familiarity with ISO energy markets and interconnection requirements.
• Strong ability to translate technical topics for clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and operational performance of BESS, solar, wind, and hybrid assets.
• Interpret specifications and translate into KPIs and workflows.
• Support SCADA design, data analytics, monitoring, and degradation analysis.
• Coordinate commissioning, testing, and readiness with vendors and teams.
• Prepare client-facing reports, dashboards, and asset health updates.
• Track evolving ISO market requirements and assess implications.
