Job summary

Kavant Solutions is seeking a Cybersecurity SME (Zero Trust) to support a federal modernization initiative. This remote role emphasizes hands-on Zero Trust guidance across identity, network, device, application, and data, translating standards into practical controls for government stakeholders.

You will advise on NIST 800-53, FISMA, RMF, and FedRAMP compliance, evaluate current posture with ZTMM, and support ATO packages and continuous monitoring.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of cybersecurity experience, including federal or government environments.
• Experience implementing or advising on Zero Trust Architecture initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of NIST SP 800-207 and NIST 800-53 controls.
• Experience with RMF, FISMA, and ATO processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or a related field (or equivalent).
• CISSP or CISM or similar certification.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical authority for cybersecurity best practices and compliance requirements in a federal environment with a focus on Zero Trust integration.
• Advise on cybersecurity controls, standards, and compliance frameworks (NIST 800-53, FISMA, RMF, FedRAMP).
• Provide guidance on Zero Trust adoption across infrastructure and IAM capabilities.
• Evaluate current security posture against Zero Trust maturity models (e.g., CISA ZTMM) and develop remediation roadmaps.
• Support Authority to Operate (ATO) packages, security assessments, and continuous monitoring.
• Collaborate with ICAM, network, and cloud teams to align controls with Zero Trust objectives.
• Create technical documentation, briefings, and recommendations for government stakeholders.
