Job summary

Koniag Data Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Zero Trust Engineer to architect, implement, and advance Zero Trust security across a federal IT environment. You will lead architecture, device and identity controls, and policy alignment with NIST and OMB mandates.

This role requires active clearance or the ability to obtain one. Primary work will be at client sites in Washington DC with approved remote/telework options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on cybersecurity engineering experience.
• Demonstrated experience implementing Zero Trust controls across pillars (identity, devices, networks, applications, data).
• Experience with IAM platforms including Microsoft Entra ID and Okta; MFA enforcement and conditional access.
• Familiarity with NIST SP 800-207, OMB M-22-09 and CISA Zero Trust models; ability to map policy to engineering.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME and technical authority for Zero Trust Architecture and strategy.
• Develop ZTA documentation, roadmaps, and maturity assessments.
• Lead maturity assessments across Identity, Devices, Networks, Applications & Data.
• Drive implementation roadmaps and sequencing of Zero Trust initiatives.
• Lead architecture reviews for new systems, cloud migrations, and changes.
• Evaluate emerging Zero Trust technologies and federal policy developments.
• Mentor security engineering team on Zero Trust concepts and compliance.
