Job summary

Regions Bank is seeking a Senior z/OS Systems Programmer to install, configure, and maintain IBM System Automation and IBM Z NetView. You will design automation policies, develop rexx scripts, and ensure high availability of our mainframe infrastructure.

In this role you will implement disaster recovery procedures, monitor system tasks, and provide on-call support. The position is remote/onsite with potential travel to a Regions location, based in Hoover, AL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field with six years of mainframe experience.
• Or HS diploma with ten years of mainframe infrastructure experience.
• Experience with ZOS, CICS, MQ, DB2, Storage, Automation, Z/Linux or Networking.
• Experience in problem determination, DR, performance, and tuning.
• Experience opening and closing issues with vendor support.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates system specs and IO processes for hardware/software compatibility.
• Troubleshoots mainframe issues and maintains stability and security.
• Administers and maintains mainframe systems, including OS and software.
• Monitors performance and tunes mainframe operating systems.
• Designs automation policies and writes NetView/REXX scripts.
• Covers on-call 24x7 for incidents and applies change management.
