Job summary

Regions Bank in Hoover, Alabama is seeking a Senior z/OS Systems Programmer to install, configure, and maintain IBM System Automation and IBM Z NetView for high availability of the mainframe environment.

You will design automation policies, develop NetView REXX scripts, and ensure disaster recovery readiness while supporting 24x7 operations and disciplined change management practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with at least 6 years of mainframe experience, or HS diploma with 10+ years in mainframe infra and software/hardware analysis.
• Experience installing and supporting mainframe products incl. ZOS, CICS, MQ, DB2, Storage, Automation, and Z/Linux.
• Experience with disaster recovery, problem determination, performance tuning, and vendor support centers.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, and maintain IBM System Automation policies.
• Configure System Automation to monitor tasks and generate alerts.
• Install, patch, and upgrade z/OS automation software using SMP/E.
• Write and debug NetView REXX scripts and command lists.
• Maintain DR procedures and test IPLs for system recovery.
• Provide on-call support for mainframe automation and network alerts.
