Job summary

AlphaGov is seeking an Instructional Designer for community workforce training work with cities, counties, and community colleges. You will turn job requirements and partner input into training that adult learners finish and employers recognize.

Engagements are remote-first with occasional client travel and 1099 project-based contracts. You will design curricula, facilitator guides, and learner materials for diverse delivery modes, align content to credentials, and craft assessments and

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience designing adult/workforce training curricula (ADDIE/SAM or similar).
• Experience writing facilitator guides, learner materials, and assessments for adults.
• Working knowledge of accessibility (Section 508 / WCAG) and plain-language design.

Responsibilities

• Run needs and task analyses with employers and staff to define learning outcomes.
• Design curricula, lesson plans, facilitator guides and learner materials for in-person, virtual, and blended delivery.
• Build accessible e-learning modules and job aids for adult learners with varied literacy, language, and digital skills.
• Align content to industry credentials, apprenticeship standards, and career pathways.
• Develop assessments, completion measures, and evaluation plans to show learner progress.
• Pilot materials with instructors and participants and revise based on feedback and results.
• Contribute qualifications and past-performance narrative to AlphaGov proposals when naming is authorized.
