Job summary

Orionplacement is recruiting a highly skilled Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney to join a fully remote team serving California employers and insurers. You will manage a statewide caseload, attend depositions and hearings, and draft pleadings and motions while providing strategic guidance to clients.

Candidates must be licensed in California with at least 1 year of workers' compensation experience and strong litigation, analytical, and writing skills.

Qualifications

• Active California Bar license.
• 1+ year of workers' compensation law experience.
• Strong litigation, analytical, legal writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to independently manage a caseload.

Responsibilities

• Represent employers, insurers, and clients in workers' compensation defense matters.
• Manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
• Attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences.
• Draft pleadings, motions, legal correspondence, and case evaluations.
• Develop litigation strategies aiming for efficient, favorable outcomes.
• Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status and recommendations.
• Conduct legal research and stay current on CA workers' compensation laws.
• Collaborate with attorneys and legal staff to deliver exceptional client service.
