Qualifications

• Active Texas Bar License.
• Minimum 3 years of Workers' Compensation Defense experience.
• Texas resident.
• Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing workers' compensation defense matters from inception through resolution.
• Taking and defending depositions.
• Attending hearings, mediations, and administrative proceedings.
• Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and legal opinions.
• Developing litigation strategy and advising clients on risk management.
• Negotiating settlements and handling dispute resolution matters.
• Working directly with insurance carriers, adjusters, employers, and claims professionals.
• Participating in additional insurance-related matters including subrogation and regulatory issues.
