Job summary

Career Consulting Partners is seeking a Workers' Compensation Attorney to join a growing WC defense practice. This fully remote role requires California residency and bar admission, with travel for depositions and trials as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of California WC law and practice.
• Remote work capability with proven reliability.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Admission to the California State Bar in good standing.
• Experience taking depositions and defending doctors.
• Experience appearing for WC hearings (status conferences, MSC, lien conferences).

Responsibilities

• Handle a caseload of workers' compensation defense cases with active support staff.
• Conduct legal research and develop defense strategies.
• Represent employers, insurers, and TPAs in hearings, trials, and appeals.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
• Assess claims, advise clients on exposure and liability, and negotiate settlements.
• Ensure compliance with workers' compensation laws and stay updated on changes.
• Participate in mediation and dispute resolution.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff while maintaining client relationships.
