Job summary

The Hire Mark, on behalf of our client a respected California workers' compensation defense law firm, seeks an experienced Senior Associate or Partner-level Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney to join their growing team. Location: Remote (California) with office in North Hollywood, CA.

You'll manage a full caseload, represent employers and insurers before WCAB, and enjoy an autonomous remote practice with strong earning potential and an extensive bonus program.

Qualifications

• Active member of the California State Bar.
• pt-1
• 3+ years of California Workers' Compensation Defense experience.
• Experience independently managing a workers' compensation defense caseload.
• Strong litigation, negotiation, and legal writing skills.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a full caseload of California workers' compensation defense matters.
• Represent employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators before the WCAB.
• Handle depositions, hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences.
• Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, petitions, and other legal documents.
• Evaluate liability and exposure while developing litigation strategies.
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, claims adjusters, and opposing counsel.
• Attend court appearances and hearings throughout California as required.
• Mentor junior attorneys when appropriate (Senior Associate/Partner level).
