Job summary

CorVel is hiring a remote Indemnity Claims Specialist to manage lower-level workers’ compensation claims under supervision. You will confirm coverage, determine validity, establish reserves, and communicate status with clients and claimants.

The role supports the claims team and adheres to client and carrier guidelines while assisting with more complex claims as needed. The position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, at least 1 year in claims management, and an active Workers’

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or combination of education and related experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of industry experience; claims management preferred.
• Current license or certification in Workers’ Compensation must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Receives Workers’ Compensation claims and confirms policy coverage.
• Determines validity and compensability of claims.
• Establishes reserves and authorizes payments within limits.
• Manages non-complex lost-time workers’ compensation claims under close supervision.
• Communicates claim status with the customer, claimant, and client.
• Adheres to guidelines and participates in claims reviews; assists more complex claims as needed.
