Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking an experienced PTC Windchill Java Engineer for a fully remote US-based role. You will customize Windchill using Java, APIs, and PTC frameworks, extending the platform while preserving upgrade-friendly layers.

Strong fundamentals, deep Windchill internals knowledge, and disciplined engineering are essential. You will collaborate with product, design, and operations to translate complex requirements into robust designs, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Five or more years of Java development experience with Windchill customization.
• Deep hands-on Windchill Java API and customization framework experience.
• Solid understanding of Windchill data model, lifecycle, and workflow internals.
• Strong Java OO design and performance engineering skills.
• Experience with JSP, HTML, and Windchill client-side customization.
• Hands-on experience with TAM (Type and Attribute Management).
• Strong SQL skills; familiar with Oracle or SQL Server.
• Experience supporting Windchill upgrades and configurations.
• Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced Java customizations within Windchill (services, listeners, processors).
• Extend Windchill data model with custom types, attributes, and relationships (TAM).
• Build custom JSP/HTML extensions and UI components.
• Develop background processes and asynchronous Windchill tasks.
• Implement complex workflow expressions and robot delegates in Java.
• Optimize performance; profile, tune queries, implement caching strategies.
• Lead migrations to modern, upgrade-friendly patterns with reversibility.
• Conduct code/design reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with consultants to translate requirements into Java designs.
• Provide post-go-live support and triage incidents with operations teams.
• Maintain up-to-date technical docs and runbooks.
