Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies seeks an experienced Windchill-focused Java Engineer to develop advanced customizations, services, listeners, and processors on the Windchill platform. You will extend the data model, build JSP/HTML extensions, and drive efficient, upgrade-friendly solutions in collaboration with product and operations teams.

The role emphasizes strong Java fundamentals, deep Windchill internals knowledge, and disciplined engineering with code reviews and mentorship for peers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Five or more years of Java development experience with a focus on Windchill customization.
• Deep hands-on experience with the Windchill Java API and customization frameworks.
• Solid understanding of Windchill data model, lifecycle, and workflow internals.
• Strong Java OOP design and performance engineering skills.
• Experience with JSP, HTML, and Windchill client-side customization.
• Hands-on experience with TAM (Type and Attribute Management).
• Strong SQL skills; familiar with Oracle or SQL Server.
• Experience supporting Windchill upgrades.
• Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced Java customizations within Windchill, including services, listeners, processors, and helpers.
• Extend Windchill data model with custom types, attributes, and relationships using TAM.
• Build custom JSP and HTML extensions, including tables, actions, and wizard pages.
• Develop custom queues and background processes for asynchronous Windchill tasks.
• Implement complex workflow expressions and robot delegates in Java with durable, upgrade-friendly practices.
• Optimize performance of Java customizations through profiling and caching strategies.
• Lead migrations to retire legacy customizations to modern patterns.
• Conduct code reviews and uphold engineering standards, mentoring junior engineers.
• Collaborate with consultants to translate requirements into clean Java designs.
• Provide hands-on post-go-live support and rapid incident triage with durable fixes.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for architecture and runbooks.
• Mentor and coach engineers to grow in technical maturity.
