Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Wind Turbine Technician to join a fully remote operations team. The role is remote-friendly and based in South Africa, with responsibilities spanning diagnostics, troubleshooting, data analysis, and collaboration with engineering and site managers.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of wind turbine experience, proficiency with SCADA systems, and strong communication skills to support on-site teams and ensure safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics or related field.
• At least 3 years direct wind turbine experience in maintenance, repair, or installation.
• Experience with SCADA and wind turbine monitoring software.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; remote work capability.
• Legally authorized to work in South Africa and have reliable internet.

Responsibilities

• Perform remote diagnostics and troubleshooting of wind turbine issues via SCADA and software.
• Provide real-time technical support to on-site teams.
• Analyze turbine data to identify faults and inefficiencies.
• Recommend preventative maintenance based on data.
• Generate detailed reports on performance and maintenance.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, site managers.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of turbine tech and safety protocols.
• Contribute to remote monitoring tool improvements.
• Document all remote support activities accurately.
