Job summary

Cayuse Language Connect, LLC is seeking West African Dialects Interpreters for remote, part-time hourly work. You will provide accurate court interpreting services, maintaining confidentiality and impartiality in diverse settings, including hearings and immigration proceedings.

Proficiency in English and one West African dialect is required, with experience in legal terminology and a focus on professionalism and ethics. Availability for on-call and travel as needed is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years of court interpretation, immigration, trafficking hearings.
• Native or near-native fluency in English and one of West African dialects: Atlantic, Mande, Kwa, Volta-Niger, Hausa, Yotuba, Igbo, Akan, Wolof, Fula.
• Familiarity with legal terminology.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and act impartially.

Responsibilities

• Accurately interpret spoken communication in real time, preserving meaning, intent, and tone.
• Clarify non-verbal cues and culture-specific concepts when necessary.
• Maintain confidentiality and impartiality per regulations and standards.
• Complete required logs and reports per protocols.
• Comply with laws and codes of professional conduct.
• Other duties as assigned.
