Job summary

Cayuse Language Connect, LLC is seeking West African Dialects Interpreters to provide real-time interpretation for court proceedings. Fluency in English and a West African dialect is required, with strict confidentiality and cultural sensitivity emphasized in all interactions.

Interpreters will be onsite as needed by the courts, including hearings, pretrials, and other legal proceedings. This part-time, hourly role supports flexibility for on-call assignments and travel as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years of court interpretation, immigration, trafficking hearings.
• Native or near-native fluency in English and West African dialects listed.
• Familiarity with legal terminology.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and impartiality.

Responsibilities

• Accurately interpret spoken communication between parties in real time, preserving meaning, intent, and tone.
• Facilitate cross-cultural understanding by clarifying non-verbal cues and culture-specific concepts, when necessary.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and impartiality in all interactions, consistent with regulations and ethical standards.
• Complete required documentation, logs, and reports in accordance with agency and contractual protocols.
• Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, government customer policies, and codes of professional conduct.
• Other duties as assigned.
