Job summary

Cayuse Language Connect, LLC is seeking West African Dialects Interpreters to provide court interpretation services in remote settings. The role focuses on accurate consecutive or simultaneous interpretation in various legal contexts, including hearings, pretrials, and immigration matters.

Candidates should have 3+ years of court interpretation, native or near-native fluency in English and one West African dialect, and a commitment to confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• 3+ years of court interpretation experience in immigration, trafficking, hearings.
• Native or near-native fluency in English and West African dialects (Atlantic, Mande, Kwa, Volta-Niger, Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, Akan, Wolof, Fula).
• Familiarity with legal terminology and strict confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Accurately interpret spoken communication in real time, preserving meaning, intent, and tone.
• Facilitate cross-cultural understanding and clarify culture-specific concepts when needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and impartiality in all interactions.
• Complete required documentation, logs, and reports per protocols.
• Comply with applicable laws and codes of conduct.
