Job summary

Dvtrading, a Chicago-based financial services firm, is hiring for a 2027 Summer Software Developer Intern with DV Equities. You will gain hands-on experience on a cutting-edge, low-latency trading platform and collaborate with experienced traders and engineers.

Based on your strengths, you may focus on C++ backend components or Python data/backtesting tooling, while learning about market data, order routing, performance optimization, and code reviews in a fast-paced team.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Expected graduation date: 2027 or 2028.
• Strong proficiency in either C++ or Python (with exposure to the other).
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and OO design.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix and basic networking concepts.
• Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic and eager to learn quickly.
• Interest in algorithmic trading and financial technology.
• Team-oriented and collaborative in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Focus on low-latency system components in C++ or data/backtesting tooling in Python.
• Assist in design, development, and maintenance of trading system components.
• Build tools and scripts in Python for data analysis, backtesting, and strategy research.
• Work with traders, researchers, and developers to understand the tech stack.
• Optimize and refactor code for performance and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and team discussions for best practices.
