Job summary

DV Trading, a leading commodities trading firm, is seeking a Software Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 in New York. You'll join a small development team to build low-latency applications, systems and trading tools that directly impact DV's trading desks.

You will work on self-contained projects within our production codebase, using AI coding tools to accelerate development while owning the code you ship. This is an hands-on learning opportunity.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and expected to graduate between Winter 2027 and Summer 2028.
• Proficient in one or more general purpose programming languages, including C++ and/or Python.
• Ability to read and navigate an existing codebase and deliver a contained project within it.
• Effective use of AI coding tools paired with the ability to critically review generated code and own its correctness.
• Strong quantitative, analytical and problem‑solving skills, ideally applied to numerical or performance-sensitive problems.
• Ability to work onsite at our New York office 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

• As a Software Development Intern, you'll work in small groups within our development team and/or trading teams to assist in building low latency applications, systems and trading tools.
• You'll deliver well-scoped, self-contained projects within our established production codebase, learning to build new functionality that integrates cleanly with mature systems.
• You'll use AI tools to accelerate your development while taking full ownership of the code you ship.
