Job summary

Chimes District of Columbia, Inc. is seeking a Web and Digital Interface Designer for a remote position within the United States. You will design, build, and deploy user-centered interfaces that support mission-critical work, with emphasis on accessibility, privacy, and performance.

The role requires a UX-focused portfolio, a Bachelor's degree in a related field, and 3+ years of relevant experience. Collaboration with developers and stakeholders is essential to deliver compliant, high-quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in UX/ Web Design or related field preferred.
• Portfolio demonstrating relevant interface or web-design work may be required.
• Three (3) or more years of directly related technical experience.
• Experience documenting technical requirements, configurations, tests, changes, and results.
• Experience in government, regulated, or security-conscious environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct user research and analyze stakeholder and user feedback to define requirements, identify usability issues, and improve interface design.
• Develop visual concepts, site maps, page templates, prototypes, and interaction diagrams, and design responsive, accessible interfaces that align with project goals and style guidelines.
• Collaborate with web developers, management, users, hosting providers, and network personnel to define requirements, prioritize needs, and resolve issues affecting the user experience.
• Create and maintain design specifications and documentation covering product features, interface behavior, technical constraints, and test results.
• Plan, conduct, and document usability and cross-browser/device testing, and correct issues or refer them to appropriate personnel.
• Support website creation and updates, including supporting code and content-style guidelines; weigh accessibility, privacy, performance, budget, and legal requirements in design decisions.
