Job summary

WSP is seeking a Web Developer (Mid to Senior) to join our Visual Studios Interactive Department within Advanced Complimentary Services. This remote role oversees the full lifecycle of web apps, from requirements to deployment and maintenance, partnering with UX/UI designers and GIS teams to deliver polished, interactive experiences.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience directly related to web development.
• Proficient in HTML5, CSS3, and responsive web design principles.
• Hands-on experience interfacing programmatically with APIs (e.g., Google Maps or mapping platforms).
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and JSON.
• Ability to write clear documentation and maintain readable code.
• Experience creating motion and interactivity to drive user engagement.
• Proven mentoring and code-review experience.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
• Experience using Git in a collaborative environment.
• Understanding of asynchronous requests, partial page updates, and AJAX.
• Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to manage scope, schedule, and priorities in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop modern web applications from UI/UX wireframes and mockups.
• Translate designs and requirements into scalable, performant web apps.
• Optimize performance, responsiveness, and cross‑browser compatibility.
• Develop web apps that function consistently across platforms and browsers.
• Integrate GIS using APIs or SDKs.
• Apply cloud-first and responsive design methodologies.
• Maintain source code repositories with Git.
• Collaborate with designers, developers, leads, and clients.
• Mentor team members via code reviews and guidance.
• Develop unit tests and perform testing.
• Mitigate security risks per OWASP Top 10.
• Debug, support, and maintain web apps.
• Provide technical support to end users as needed.
• Handle additional responsibilities as assigned.
