You will build and maintain WordPress sites, implement e-commerce integrations, and optimize performance while collaborating with a distributed contractor community. Strong communication and reliability are essential for success in this flexible, client-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Must reside and be authorized to work in the United States.
• At least 3 years of front-end and back-end web development experience.
• At least 2 years of remote or virtual work experience.
• Experience supporting multiple clients; running your own web development practice is preferred.
• Available a minimum of 10 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain WordPress websites for multiple clients.
• Build front-end interfaces with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Develop and maintain back-end PHP functionality.
• Manage e-commerce builds on WooCommerce, Shopify, or ThriveCart.
• Execute migrations, domain transfers, and hosting changes.
• Implement website security measures to protect client sites.
• Set up landing pages and automations with Zapier, Make, or n8n.
• Monitor analytics and optimize for SEO and AEO.
• Collaborate with designers and other contractors as needed.
• Gather requirements directly from clients and communicate timelines.
• Provide ongoing maintenance and ad hoc support for active sites.
• Maintain clear project documentation.
