Job summary

Science Systems and Applications, Inc. (SSAI) invites a full-time Web Application Developer to join our NASA Earth Science Division projects, focusing on PHP with Drupal and WordPress.

You will work on engaging websites and knowledge management tools, collaborating with a cross-functional team in a distributed, primarily Eastern-time environment while delivering scalable web solutions for internal and external audiences.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or web design/development or comparable work experience.
• 5+ years of experience deploying commercial or government websites and secure web applications/content management systems.
• Drupal 10/11 maintenance and development, including custom module development.
• Critical thinking focused on the delivery of architectures and solutions to challenges.
• Sound experience in fundamental web technologies.
• Experience using version control systems (we use Git).
• Ability to write maintainable and scalable code.
• Ability to both take direction and work in a self-directed environment as an effective team member.
• An interest in supporting NASA's communication and research goals.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and maintain WordPress and Drupal websites and apps.
• Collaborate with designers, PMs, and stakeholders across time zones.
• Implement knowledge management tools and web-based solutions.
• Write clean, scalable PHP code and perform code reviews.
