Job summary

Abramson Labor Group in California seeks a Hearing Representative to own settlement and OSA hearings before the WCAB. You will prepare matters, appear virtually at all settlement hearings, update files, and keep clients informed on both sides of the appearance.

The role requires real hearing experience, strong organization, and the ability to meet weekly targets. Bilingual English/Spanish is a significant plus, and remote work within California is available.

Qualifications

• Hearing experience in California workers’ compensation, with prepped and appeared at WCAB hearings.
• Strong knowledge of workers’ compensation practice and WCAB procedures (OSAs, C&R/OACR, EAMS).
• Highly organized and able to move dozens of matters without missing details.
• Excellent multitasking under deadlines and shifting priorities.
• Self-motivated and accustomed to weekly performance metrics.
• Clear, professional communication with clients, judges, and staff.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a significant plus given client base.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and appear: Hearings and settlements, including status and mandatory conferences, virtually.
• Keep files current: Update each case before and after hearings for a complete record.
• Keep clients updated: Communicate with clients before and after hearings on schedule.
• Resolve OSAs from receipt to resolution with needed letters and declarations.
• Negotiate split fees on subbed-out or referred cases.
• Coordinate with attorneys and settlement staff to align on matter status.
• Meet weekly metrics for hearing prep, OSA-queue, and client communications.
