Job summary

JCW Group, in partnership with a nationally recognized SBA lender, seeks an experienced VP SBA Underwriter to join its credit team. This role is remote-friendly, provided you reside in one of the approved states.

Focus is SBA 7(a) lending with emphasis on hospitality and hotel financing. You will independently underwrite SBA transactions, analyze borrower financials and debt service, structure loans, and prepare credit memoranda for approval, contributing to a high-volume pipeline for a leading

Qualifications

• Experience underwriting SBA 7(a) loans for hospitality businesses, particularly hotels and motels.
• Experience analyzing borrower financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, collateral, and debt service coverage.
• Demonstrated ability to independently prepare detailed credit memoranda and assess loan structures, risk ratings, and repayment capacity.
• Experience working with commercial lending teams, credit administration, and loan approval processes.
• Strong written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously.

Responsibilities

Job description

We're working with a nationally recognized SBA lender seeking an experienced VP, SBA Underwriter to join its growing credit team. This is an individual contributor position focused primarily on SBA 7(a) lending, with a particular emphasis on hospitality and hotel financing. It can be done fully remotely, provided the candidate resides in one of the states listed at the bottom of this page.

The successful candidate will be responsible for independently underwriting SBA transactions, analyzing borrower financials and repayment capacity, structuring loans, and preparing detailed credit memoranda for approval. The role offers the opportunity to work on a substantial volume of transactions with one of the country's leading SBA hotel lenders.

Candidates must have:

• Experience underwriting SBA 7(a) loans for hospitality businesses, particularly hotels and motels.
• Experience analyzing business and guarantor financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, collateral, and debt service coverage.
• Demonstrated ability to independently prepare detailed credit memoranda and assess loan structures, risk ratings, and repayment capacity.
• Experience working with commercial lending teams, credit administration, and loan approval processes.
• Strong written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously.

Highly desired:

• Experience with SBA-eligible commercial real estate transactions.
• Familiarity with SBA 504 and USDA lending programs.
