Job summary

Motion Recruitment is seeking a mid-level VMware Engineer to join a fully remote, full-time team supporting a large-scale virtualized infrastructure. Focus areas include VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and NSX within an enterprise environment.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of hands-on VMware experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and a solid understanding of storage and networking concepts. Remote work is available for a US-based candidate.

Qualifications

• 3+ years with VMware and virtual infrastructure environments.
• Hands-on with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
• Experience administering and troubleshooting VMs and ESXi hosts.
• Familiar with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) architecture.
• Experience with clusters, HA, DRS, vMotion, resource management.
• Strong understanding of virtualization concepts in enterprise infra.
• Troubleshooting performance, availability, and connectivity issues.
• Understanding of SAN/NAS storage and networking concepts.
• Experience with VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, routing.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support the enterprise VMware infrastructure across environments.
• Manage and troubleshoot VCF, vCenter, ESXi hosts, clusters, and VMs.
• Perform VM provisioning, migrations, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.
• Troubleshoot virtualization, compute, storage, and networking issues.
• Support HA, DRS, vMotion, and other core virtualization technologies.
• Develop and maintain automation with PowerCLI/PowerShell.
• Collaborate with networking, storage, security, cloud, and systems teams.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and procedures.
• Participate in an on-call rotation as needed.
