Job summary

The Epoch Times is seeking a Graphics Reporter/Visual Journalist who can turn complex information into clear, compelling visual stories. This role blends journalism, design, and data storytelling across digital and print platforms.

You will create graphics, charts, maps, and visual features; collaborate with reporters, editors, and video teams; and ensure accuracy and editorial standards in a fast-paced newsroom environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience producing editorial graphics, infographics, or visual journalism.
• Strong editorial judgment and visual storytelling ability.
• Ability to simplify complex information visually.
• Ability to work quickly and accurately in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities where visuals can enhance or lead storytelling.
• Research topics and gather useful data to better explain editorial content.
• Translate complex news stories, investigations, and data into clear and engaging visual formats.
• Create infographics, charts, maps, and visual elements for multiple platforms.
• Analyze datasets and build data visualizations using Flourish or Datawrapper.
• Write and edit supporting text for visual content.
• Ensure all graphics are accurate, well-sourced, and aligned with editorial standards.
• Provide feedback and guidance to creative contributors.
• Collaborate with reporters, editors, designers, and video teams to produce visual stories.
