Job summary

William & Mary invites applications for an 18-month, non-tenure track Visiting Teaching Faculty position in Public Policy, beginning January 10, 2027. The appointment supports teaching for the B.A. in Public Policy and the MPP program.

The successful candidate will teach introductory undergraduate courses and upper-level courses aligned with their interests. Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in a related field (or master’s with five years public policy experience) and 18 graduate credit

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Public Policy, Economics, Government/Political Science, Law or related field (or equivalent: master’s + 5 years in public policy) required at start date.
• 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline to be taught.
• Ability to teach introductory public policy courses for undergraduates.
• Ability to teach upper-level courses aligned with the candidate's interests.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate Public Policy major courses and the MPP program.
• Maintain an effective teaching record with a 3-3 load.
• Contribute to program development and student mentoring.
